A lot of people believe that Yoga is only stretching. To be truthful, stretching is a major involvement, but yoga is more about creating balance with the body developing strength and flexibility. This is accomplished by the performing diffrent poses and postures.
Each pose, posture has its own physical benefit. The different poses can be done quickly, with breathing being a major part between the poses (i.e. instructor should guide you from one pose to the next on an inhale or exhale). This in return will create warmth in the body (almost the same as a light areobic excercise).
Another option that may be chosen is a more slower approach. If done properly, will increase stamina and stretch ability. This is the type of yoga that is usually taught in commercial gyms.
