When you think of Aloe vera, you probably think of one thing: burns. Whether bad sunburn or a burn from the kitchen stove, we are taught from a young age that Aloe vera can be used to sooth and aid in a fast recovery of burns. But were you aware that Aloe vera has many more uses than just burn relief. Take a quick look at some of these surprising ways that aloe can be used.
Strengthen Nails
Aloe vera can make your nails hard as nails! Since aloe vera is an excellent source of vitamin C, it’s no wonder that it does good things for your nails. Mix a few tablespoons of aloe vera with several drops of witch hazel (to dilute it slightly) and rub on each nail with a cotton ball. Use as often as you like. You should see a difference in your nails after a few weeks!
Sooth Razor Burn and Cuts
While we always think of using Aloe vera when the sun bakes us, we rarely consider it when we cut ourselves shaving. Putting a dab of aloe vera on your cut or stinging bumps will give you instant relief. Applying it to a cut for a few days after will reduce the appearance of scaring as well.
Acne Treatment
If you suffer from acne, try using aloe vera. Not only will it help in cleaning off dead skin cells, but also it will allow your pores to open up. It will then get rid of the oils that can clog creating acne. In addition, aloe vera soothes inflammation and redness that is caused by acne. Start with just a pea-sized amount applied to a small area of your face to see how your skin feels.

Smoother Hair
Instead of using a conditioner, use aloe vera a few times a week instead. Start at the bottom of your hair focusing on the roots and working toward your scalp. Rinse well to remove any unwanted residue. Your hair will feel smoother and silkier after just one application!
Healthier Teeth
Surprisingly, it has been proven that aloe vera can protect teeth from cavities and bacterial buildup. It can also keep bad breath at bay. Look for toothpaste that has aloe vera in it or put just a small amount on your toothbrush after you have brushed with your usual toothpaste.
Don’t let your Aloe vera sit in your cupboards, only using it in the event of a bad burn. As you can see there are many other uses for aloe vera. Do you know of any other aloe vera tips that you can share?
