If there’s one thing that all of my friends have in common, besides loving to watch the Chicago Bulls, it’s that we all get tired and feel sluggish throughout the day for no real reason whatsoever. We don’t have to be so tired all the time but is seems like everybody is and it’s a real shame because we don’t have to feel that way and that’s why I wanted to write this article today to give you several tips that you can use to boost yourself up and feel much more energetic.
The first thing to do is eliminate sugar. If you’re not ready to shoot me already, then let me tell you why; along with sugar you should also cut back on carbohydrates because in many people the body responds to these two things by releasing too much insulin which can cause glucose levels to plummet which result in fatigue, as I’m sure you already guessed!
Many times cutting out sugar and reducing the amount of carbohydrates that you consume in a day will often times create a dramatic rise in energy that will surprise the heck out of you. It’s going to take a few weeks for this effect to occur but you should know in just about three weeks and sometimes in a little less how big a difference this is going to make.
The next way to increase your energy levels is to exercise four times a week. Did you really think I was going to be able to write an article about energy without touching on exercise at all? Yes, it’s true that nobody really likes to exercise but at the end of the day there really is no better way to boost energy levels for long-term gains.
Exercise makes your body release endorphins which make you feel energized. It also increases the flow of oxygen to the brain which is incredibly important and helps reduce stress as well as many different anxieties. It may take several months of exercising before you feel the effects on a daily basis to your general energy level, but for some people the change can take place almost immediately.
Next you should really cut out caffeine from your diet. Yes I’m sure you’re probably definitely ready to kill me now, but the fact of the matter is, caffeine actually does make you more tired in the long run. It does this because when you drink too much of it, it can increase anxiety which makes you sleep poorly. Without the proper sleep you become more tired over time so indirectly caffeine makes you more tired over time.
Cutting out caffeine completely is impossible for most people and I’m not suggesting that you do so but I am suggesting that you limit your caffeine consumption to one cup of coffee in the morning and one cup in the afternoon and I think you’ll find a massive increase in energy because of it.
So there you have several fairly simple ways to make yourself feel more energetic throughout the day. Some of these are easier than others and some of them will occur quicker than others but all of them will work in the end if you stick to them.
