10 Ways to Feel Better RIGHT NOW (p 2)

this is a continuation from 10 Ways to Feel Better RIGHT NOW.  If you missed the first part, you can go back by clicking on the following link:  Part 1

5 – Focus on the good things

While you sit in your surroundings, take a look at what you have.  Study the piece of art, chair, or that scented candle that you bought because it made you feel good.  Remember that feeling when you first bought it.  Find another piece and enjoy it.  Think about the hardship you went through earlier and made it through it.  All the wonderful people/things that are in your life.

4 – Laugh

Maybe start with just a simple smile.  Then work your way up to a giggle.  Then do the biggest belly laugh you can.  Ask someone to tell you a joke or a super funny story.  Laughing releases endorphins in the brain that help ease tension and worry.  Even if there is not clown near by, throw on a funny skit from a comedy show or put in a CD of your favorite comedian (mine is Jim Gaffigan: Beyond the Pale).  After all, laughter is the best medicine.

3 – Pray

Get in a comfortable position and just start to focus.  Whether you are praying to god or working on manifesting things in your life, it is good to ask for things.  Think about only what you want and not what you don’t want.  Remember to be clear and precise.  In other words do not say “I DON’T want … to happen.”  You would say “I WANT … to happen.”  Be sure to stay focused on only what you want, not what you don’t want.  After praying, it is good to imagine yourself in the moment of what it is that you have asked for.  That is the moment you start to make things happen for you.

2 – Get lost in a Movie

One of my favorite things to do when I am feeling down is go to the movies.  For about 2 hours I get to watch someone else’s challenges and triumphs.  It allows me to escape from my own thoughts and gives me new hopes and ideas.  For 2 hours I am lost in another world; it allows my mind a chance to relax and refresh so I can more easily tackle the situation at hand.

1 – Play

The highest on my list is to play.  Play with a puppy or a child.  Listen to the little squeals that come out of their mouths.  Take a laser pointer light and amuse a kitten.  Watching innocent creatures acting natural and silly can be so invigorating and joyous.  Seriously, if you don’t believe me, please watch this video HERE and then answer me again (if the link doesn’t work, copy and paste this link into your browser: http://www.wimp.com/babymoose/)

Gosh, I already feel good just thinking about all these wonderful things.

Now that you know of my 10 ways to feel better, I hope that you may adopt one or two to help you on your path to feeling better next time you are down.  If you would, please take a moment and share some of the things that you do to make yourself feel better.  It may be useful for to our other readers to get some new ideas and perspectives.

We do get lost in all the negatives in our lives and it does seem to over shadow the positives.
If you want things to change in your life, then you have to change them. No one will do it for you.
Your 10 things are a good way to start feeling better. If a person just can’t seem to get back on track, then please seek professional help.
